Marin Research is an open collective dedicated to accessible AI research. We are a small team, but we welcome anyone who wants to contribute to the open-source ecosystem to join us.

Our thesis is that meaningful research doesn't require a supercomputer. We focus on building small, competitive models that aim to match the utility of frontier systems at a fraction of the cost. We believe that efficiency is just as important as scale.

We currently operate on personal funds and limited compute. This constraint forces us to be creative and resourceful. We share our work openly—not because we have all the answers, but because we believe in the value of community and the joy of building together.
